Presentation: Chimney Point is a Vermont State Historic Site, located in a c.1785 tavern building on the shores of Lake Champlain, and on the site of the 1731 French wooden stockade fort. The site interprets the Native American, French colonial, and early American history of the area.
Activity 1: An Evening to Remember (evening social)

Description: At this eighth annual evening social, spend a relaxing summer evening at an old resort on Lake Champlain. Enjoy the museum and its archaeological exhibits, music, rocking on the porch and watching the sun set over the lake, costumed personages from Chimney Point’s past, period games, children’s activities and light refreshments.

Description: Explore the French colonial past at Chimney Point with hands-on activities for all ages. See the new exhibit about this early French presence. Try the dress-up box, play games, and learn what archaeology and the study of period sources can reveal.

Dates: Sundays, August 2, 9, 16 and 23, 2 p.m.
Activity length: 2 hours
Admission fee: Adults: $3 Children (under 15): Free
Description: Hands-on activities and period games. Learn about prehistoric stone tools or how to use an atlatl, an ancient spear thrower. Play period games and enjoy other fun activities for all ages.
