Presentation: The Fort Saint-Jean Museum, located on the campus of the Royal Military College Saint-Jean, and the department of archaeology at Université Laval are inaugurating a field school at Fort Saint-Jean.

Activity 1: Archaeological digs open to public

Description: Archaeologists will be searching for the remains of the French forts of 1666 and 1748 and of the British redoubts of 1775. Come and see an archaeological dig in progress and take the opportunity to visit a site whose military tradition spans over 340 years.

Date: Sunday, August 23, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Description: An archaeologist will present artifacts that bear witness to the sieges of 1760 and 1775 in the Richelieu Valley. Using interpretation tools, he will explain what happened in these two major battles.
