Presentation: A place of national historic significance, protected and presented by Parks Canada, the site commemorates the importance of the first canals dug along the St. Lawrence in the 18th and 19th centuries and the role that this river has played in transportation and communication in Canada.

Description: Personalized tour of the “archaeological garden.” Take an archaeological tour with an interpretative guide and discover the secrets of the remains that dot the landscape. You can learn the basics of digging techniques and attend a presentation of original artifacts that bear witness to 7000 years of history. Families with children are invited to take part in the archaeological dig activity and the artifact presentation.
