Presentation: Le Centre d’initiation au patrimoine – La Grande Ferme is located in a historic site and offers interpretation activities to introduce visitors to the historic and archaeological heritage of the Saint-Joachim Cap-Tourmente region. The following activity is presented in collaboration with Artefactuel, an archaeologists’ co-operative dedicated to promoting and presenting archaeology through research-related, educational and outreach activities.

Activity: Archaeologist for a day

Dates: August 12 to 16 and August 19 to 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Activity length: half a day (3 hours 30 minutes), or full day (7 hours)
Admission fee: Adults: full day, $30, half day, $20 
Student: full day, $25, half day, $15  (on presentation of student card)
10% reduction on regular fee for groups of 4 or more

Description: A chance to discover 350 years of history on the site of La Grande Ferme, using archaeologists’ tools to uncover artifacts and structures beneath the ground. This is a unique occasion to find out how archaeologists work and to excavate a real archaeological site.
