Presentation: The Pabos Historical and Archeological Interpretation Centre presents the day-to-day life of a fishing village in New France in the 1730-1758 period. The site covers a small part of Pabos seigneury, which was once owned by the Lefèbvre de Bellefeuille family. You can visit a reconstruction of a fisherman’s hut, examine the foundations of the manor house on Beau Séjour Island and admire the many artifacts discovered on the site.
Activity 1: A boat trip to Beau Séjour Island
Dates: August 5 to 21, Wednesday to Friday
Times will vary to take advantage of the tides and the weather. The activity may be cancelled in case of bad weather.
Activity length: 2 hours
Admission fee: $10 per person
Description: Crossing to Beau Séjour Island in a zodiac. Animation on the following themes:
- the lifestyle of fishermen in the 18th century on the site of a reconstructed fishermen’s hut;
- the ecology of Grand Pabos Bay (during the crossing);
- the archaeological finds at Pabos on the site of the remains of the Lefebvre de Bellefeuille family’s manor house.

Activity 5: Talks “Sharing our archaeological treasures with the Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site of Canada”

Activity length: 45 minutes per presentation
Admission fee: Included in the general admission fee for the site
Description: Two talks will be presented in collaboration with the Pabos Historical and Archeological Interpretation Centre. The first one, on August 2, dealing with archaeological digs at the Pabos site and what they tell us about settlement in the Gaspé, will be presented at the Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site of Canada. The August 23 talk, on underwater archaeology in the Restigouche River, will be presented at the Pabos Historical and Archeological Interpretation Centre.
